About Laos

The Displacement Tracking Matrix is a component that the IOM uses to collect, analyse and disseminate information relating to populations that are mobile, migrant or displaced.

In the PDR, the DTM was was active from July to September 2018 in response to the flooding in Attapeu, Sanamxai District in southern Laos. Working in close partnership with the Laotian Ministry of Health, Joint Rapid Assessments were conducted in 10 sites to collect data on camps and temporary shelters of those displaced by the flooding. The Joint Rapid Assessment team collected information on the number of internally displaced people at a site, water, hygiene and sanitation status, food sources and overall quality of life.
