DTM identified 190,591 internally displaced persons (34,221 households), 8,251 unregistered refugees (1,650 households) and 39,833 returnees (7,828 households). 83% of the displaced population was displaced by the insurgency and 17% by flooding and other natural disasters.

En avril 2016, DTM a identifié 41 752 PDI dans quatre provinces. La plupart des PDI résident dans la province de Makamba (15 643 PDI soit 3 127 ménages). 67% des PDI ont été déplacées en raison de la situation socio-politique et 24% ont été déplacées à la suite désatrses naturels.

DTM recorded 41,752 IDPs in four provinces. Most IDPs were counted in Makamba province (15,643 IDPs or 3,127 households). 67% of IDPs reported socio-political reasons for their displacement and 24% were displaced by natural disasters. 9% fled for 'other' reasons.

Conceptualized in 2004 in Iraq, for the IDP assessments and monitoring exercises, the DTM has been continuously refined and enhanced through years of operational experience in countries of implementation affected by natural disaster, conflict, or in complex situations.
