Niger — Flow Monitoring Report (January 2017)
Since February 2016, IOM Niger has been carrying out flow monitoring of migrants at two points in Niger in the region of Agadez. 8,424 incoming individuals were observed in FMPs and 6,524 outgoing individuals were observed in FMPs during the month of January.

IOM profiled 840 individuals (224 households) among whom were 223 children under the age of five years in seven villages in its surroundings and 16 neighbourhoods within Ndélé. 44% of the displaced population were returnees from Chad whilst 14% came from Bria and Bambari.

Within the covered period, the total number of identified IDPs decreased by 2%, i.e. by 68,142 individuals. Despite the general decrease in the number of IDPs due to ongoing return movements, two governorates recorded a remarkable increase in identified IDPs (Ninewa +10% and Salah al-Din +3%).
