Turkey — Quarterly Migration Report (December 2016)

In December 2016, there were approximately 3.1 million foreign nationals present in Turkish territory seeking international protection. Most of them were Syrians (2,823,987 individuals) who were granted temporary protection status. Of these 73% (2,565,390 individuals) were living in urban settings and 7% (258,597individuals) were living in camps. In addition, there were 422,895 foreign nationals with residency permit status including those granted humanitarian residence status.
