Summary

A total of 15,664 undocumented Afghans spontaneously returned or were deported from Iran through the Milak (Nimroz) and Herat (Islam Qala) border crossings between 9 and 15 September 2018, 10% more than in the previous week. In the case of returnees from Pakistan, a total of 969 undocumented Afghans spontaneously returned or were deported from Pakistan through the Turkham (Nangarhar) and Spin Boldak (Kandahar) border crossings during the reporting period, according to the Border Monitoring Team of the Directorate of Refugees and Repatriation (DoRR). So far in 2018, 537,710 returns from Iran and 24,631 returns from Pakistan were recorded. 89% of returnees from Pakistan (859 individuals) were assisted, while 3% of returnees from Iran (474 individuals) received assistance.
