On 8 December 2017, at around 6:25 PM, there was a fire outbreak at the Governmt Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Camp, Monguno. IOM DTM and CCCM staff on ground report that the fire was a result of a cooking fire that was let exposed.

As of February 2016, IOM Niger has been carrying out flow monitoring of migrants at two points in Niger in the region of Agadez. This flow monitoring does not replace border monitoring nor does it claim to observe all migratory flows in the Agadez region.

IOM Nigeria's DTM unit conducted Biometric Registration in Ngala Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State covering Arabic Village Camp, International School Camp and neighbouring host community sites.

The displaced population is estimated at 335,016 individuals (241,987 IDPs,29,337 out of camp refugees and 63,692 returnees). 743 villages were evaluated including 14 new villages.
