About

Displacement.iom.int is an IOM online platform designed to enhance access to Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) information products on internal displacement, including a visualization of the scale of displacement monitored by IOM. A second complementary platform by DTM, flow.iom.int, intends to visualise population flows. Each platform is designed to facilitate a better understanding of displacement and mobility trends within and between countries or regions.

Mobility tracking aims to quantify the presence of population categories within defined locations, with a frequency that captures mobility dynamics. Its approach is highly customizable: it can be light-touch or in-depth depending on the phase and requirements of the response, and it often increases in depth and detail over successive rounds. The online platform visualises mobility tracking data collected through baseline area assessments.

Baseline area assessments provide information on the presence of internally displaced populations in a defined administrative area, their reason and date of displacement and their shelter situation. Once a baseline or a list of locations hosting displaced populations has been identified, further location and/or site assessments are conducted to gather multi-layer and multi-themed data on the displaced groups. The objective of the location/site assessments is to collect in-depth data on the living conditions and needs of populations. This may include populations in camp and camp-like settings, or populations residing within host communities and/or areas of return of the observed population of concern.

More than 5 years after the devastating 12 January 2010 earthquake, an estimated 14,970 households or 60,801 individuals are still residing in 45 IDP sites in the earthquake affected communes. As of 30 June 2015, 45 sites remain open in Haiti.

During June 2015 the DTM verified 81 displacement sites hosting 650,634 IDPs. 200,347 IDPs were identified in 42 host communities, 237,473 in 25 spontaneous settlements, 170,131 in 5 PoCs and 42,683 in 9 collective centres.

Round 2 assessments identified 409 displacement sites in fifteen earthquake-affected districts, hosting an estimated 117,700 people from 21,711 households. 77 priority sites of more than 50 households are hosting 49,118 people.

A total of newly 8,630 displaced families (51,780 individuals) were identified during the reporting period of 21 May through 4 June.

As of 31 May 2015, the TFPM has identified 1,019,762 internally displaced persons (IDPs) (158,887 households) in Yemen.

131 sites remain open, corresponding to approximately 26,100 households and an estimated 107,000 individuals. A decrease of 12,466 IDP households was recorded between the second and third round of the DTM reports; corresponding to a 32% decrease in the number of displaced households.

This dashboard displays location and size (number of IDPs) of displacement sites in Mozambique. DTM has recorded a total of 72,517 IDPs in 46 assessed sites within Zambezia Province. 24% of sites are accommodation centres and 76% of sites are relocation communities.

Approximately 13,207 displaced families were identified within 46 relocation sites in Zambezia Province. 38 of 46 assessed sites reported an active site management committee comprised of community members. Malaria was noted as the most prevalent health problem in nearly all sites (89%).

Over the reported period, an increase among IDPs in camps and private settings has been observed, 1% and 4% respectively, while the number of IDPs in critical shelters4 has decreased by approximately 2%.

From February to March 2015, a-month-long law and order operations lead by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) left more than 91,000 displaced individuals in 13 municipalities of the province of Maguindanao.

This dashboard of Round 3 indicates site type and location throughout Malawi. A table details site name, unique site ID (SSID), number of households, number of individuals and gender distribution of each site (131).

Round 1 assessments identified 5,783 IDPs in 53 sites in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts. Sites are 98% spontaneous settlements and 2% collective centres.

The data collected in 76 displacement sites between 4 and 7 May 2017 includes, among others:
 - Site classification
 - Use of the site before the arrival of displaced population
 - Demographic data of the displaced population
 - Information on vulnerable groups

As of 29 April 2015, 1,491,706 IDPs in 194,145 households were identified in the third round of assessments.

100% (20,236 families) of the newly displaced population identified from 25 April to 7 May, 2015, originate from Anbar Governorate, out of which 52% are displaced to Baghdad and 35% within Anbar, followed by Sulaymaniyah

Round 3 of the DTM site assessments in northeastern Nigeria identified 1,491,706 IDPs (or 194,145 households). These include 147,285 IDP in 42 camps.

9.752 ménages enregistrées et identifiées par le programme DTM dans l’ensemble des régions du Mali. 20.588 PDIs dans les régions sud et 22.513 PDIs dans les régions nord.

An estimated 147,500 IDPs—approximately 38,600 households—are associated with 192 open sites. 8 sites (4% of the sites) host more than 1000 households.

From February to March 2015, a-month-long law and order operations lead by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) left more than 91,000 displaced indivi

A total of 1,491,706 IDPs (194,145 households) were identified in Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states. Borno state (939,290 IDPs) has the highest number of IDPs, followed by Adamawa (222,882 IDPs) and Yobe (139,591 IDPs).

This document lists all the sites assessed in DTM Round 3 including the site ID, site name, Local Government Area, ward name, number of households and number of individuals.
