Displacement.iom.int is an IOM online platform designed to enhance access to Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) information products on internal displacement, including a visualization of the scale of displacement monitored by IOM. A second complementary platform by DTM, flow.iom.int, intends to visualise population flows. Each platform is designed to facilitate a better understanding of displacement and mobility trends within and between countries or regions.  

Mobility tracking aims to quantify the presence of population categories within defined locations, with a frequency that captures mobility dynamics. Its approach is highly customizable: it can be light-touch or in-depth depending on the phase and requirements of the response, and it often increases in depth and detail over successive rounds. The online platform visualises mobility tracking data collected through baseline area assessments.

Baseline area assessments provide information on the presence of internally displaced populations in a defined administrative area, their reason and date of displacement and their shelter situation. Once a baseline or a list of locations hosting displaced populations has been identified, further location and/or site assessments are conducted to gather multi-layer and multi-themed data on the displaced groups. The objective of the location/site assessments is to collect in-depth data on the living conditions and needs of populations. This may include populations in camp and camp-like settings, or populations residing within host communities and/or areas of return of the observed population of concern.

The total number of current IDPs is 83,988. Of these, 74,268 individuals (88%) originate from Mosul. Most IDPs are in Ninewa governate: 82,836 individuals, which represents 99% of the total displaced population.

Conflict related: The 11th TFPM identified, in connection with the ongoing conflict, 2,179,278 internally displaced persons (IDPs) who remain in a situation of displacement across 21 governorates; the majority, 51%, are displaced in Hajjah, Taizz, and Sana’a.

This document presents the results of the CCCM Site Profile carried out in the following sites: Taung Paw Camp (Myebon, Rakhine); Ah Nauk Ywe Camp (Pauktaw, Rakhine); Baw Du Pha 1 Camp (Sittwe, Rakhine); and Thet Kae Pyin Camp (Sittwe, Rakhine). 

Between 1 and 31 November 2016, 2,598 outgoing migrants and 3,762 incoming migrants were registered in Arlit. During the same reporting period, 30,263 outgoing migrants and 6,524 incoming migrants were registered in Séguédine.

The total number of individuals currently displaced is 77,046. Of these, 68,484 IDPs (89%) originate from Mosul. Most IDPs are in Ninewa governate: 75,906 individuals, which represents 99% of the total displaced population. 

The cumulative total of IDPs recorded by DTM during this period was 86,334 individuals comprising 14,389 families. Of these, 77,874 individuals (comprising 12,979 families) are still displaced. 61,176 people are currently residing in emergency camps. DTM also recorded 8,460 individual returnees.

The data collection activity in the “Calais Jungle” has shown that the sample size predominantly consists of single Afghan males between the age of 18 and 25 years.

This map is an annex to the report entitled “Internal displacements induced by natural and man-made hazards in Papua New Guinea (November 2016)”. It displays type and magnitude of displacement across Papua New Guinea as of November 2016. 

130,956 persons are reported to be internally displaced. This represents a 28% increase from previous month (October 2016) and an overall peak in 2016. There were around 14,900 IDPs in January 2016. 11 out of 18 provinces were covered by the DTM.

Throughout the last decade, Papua New Guinea (PNG) has experienced internal displacements arising in the context of natural and human induced hazards that includes the Manam volcano and tribal conflicts respectively.

DTM Identified 256,638 individuals comprising 42,773 families. The highest number of displaced were recorded in the Mosul corridor (136,758 IDPs), in which the most originated from Al Shirqat (85,848). In the Mosul Operations, DTM recorded 73,566 IDPs of which most originated from Mosul itself.

692 evacuation shelters have been inventories. Of these 254 have been assessed by DTM teams. Registration data is currently available for 61 sites. A total of 3,145 households (representing 14,217 individuals) have been registered in 61 evacuation centres.
