Displacement.iom.int is an IOM online platform designed to enhance access to Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) information products on internal displacement, including a visualization of the scale of displacement monitored by IOM. A second complementary platform by DTM, flow.iom.int, intends to visualise population flows. Each platform is designed to facilitate a better understanding of displacement and mobility trends within and between countries or regions.  

Mobility tracking aims to quantify the presence of population categories within defined locations, with a frequency that captures mobility dynamics. Its approach is highly customizable: it can be light-touch or in-depth depending on the phase and requirements of the response, and it often increases in depth and detail over successive rounds. The online platform visualises mobility tracking data collected through baseline area assessments.

Baseline area assessments provide information on the presence of internally displaced populations in a defined administrative area, their reason and date of displacement and their shelter situation. Once a baseline or a list of locations hosting displaced populations has been identified, further location and/or site assessments are conducted to gather multi-layer and multi-themed data on the displaced groups. The objective of the location/site assessments is to collect in-depth data on the living conditions and needs of populations. This may include populations in camp and camp-like settings, or populations residing within host communities and/or areas of return of the observed population of concern.

This dashboard contains information on damage to shelter sites and churches in four different neighbourhoods (quartiers) following the events of 7 February 2017. 

DTM recorded 206,520 IDPs comprising 34,420 families. The highest number of IDPs was recorded in Ninewa governorate (201,594 individuals) which hosts 94% of the IDP population. 171,912 individuals were recorded living in camps and emergency sites.

From December 2016 to January 2017 the TFPM observed an overall decrease in the conflict-related displacement of 15,876 individuals (-0.79%). On the other hand, there has been an overall increase in the conflict-affected return population of 21,222 individuals (+2%).

In 2016, a total of 6,864 Afghans voluntarily returned to their country through the AVRR programme.

The document contains 21 dashboards of 21 governorates (report 13). The dashboards contain information on total governorate population, IDP and returnee numbers, demographic data, duration of displacement and needs. 

DTM identified 34,420 IDP families comprised of 206,520 individuals. The majority of the identified individuals (172,260) originated from Mosul.

8935 individuals were observed crossing the border into Haitian territory this week, of these 33 presumed unaccompanied minors were identified. 250 individuals declared having returned spontaneously to Haiti and 64 individuals claimed to have been deported into Haitian territory.

DTM recorded 148,490 IDPs comprising 31,245 households during the period covered. Of these 5,157 are in displacement sites, 86,014 are living with host families and 57,319 are living in rented houses and self-constructed huts.

DTM recorded 191,826 IDPs comprising 31,971 families. The highest number of IDPs was recorded in Ninewa governorate (179,520 individuals) followed by Baghdad governorate (9,294individuals). 158,238 individuals were recorded living in camps and emergency sites.

During this reporting period IOM Libya conducted 8,306 interviews using simple random sampling across 10 different regions, some consisting of several Flow Monitoring Points.

As part of its sixth round of the Displacement Tracking matrix (DTM), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducted a Return Intention Survey targeting IDPs in the Far North Region of Cameroon.

Depuis 2014, la République du Cameroun a pu ressentir les effets de l’insurrection de l’Etat Islamique en Afrique de l’Ouest (ISWA, anciennement Boko Haram).

Between 1 January and 26 February 2017, at least 138,000 individuals in Somalia have been internally displaced. A majority of these IDPs come from Bay, Bari, Gedo, Mudug, Galgaduud and Middle Shbelle. Drought conditions prevail in South Central as well as in other parts of Somalia.

 On 23 February heavy clashes broke out in Abu Slim in Tripoli. The clashes led to the displacement of 35 families.  2,755 individuals are reported to have returned to Sirte during the course of the last week.

A snapshot of the movement of people from: Barna (246 arrivals), Dikwa (234 arrivals), Kala/Balge (320 arrivals), Mobbar, Kodunga, Gwoza (892 arrivals), Monguno (54 arrivals), Kukawa (370 arrivals), Yola South (42 arrivals) and Mub (60 arrivals).

As part of its fifth round of the Displacement Tracking matrix (DTM), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducted a Return Intention Survey targeting IDPs in the Far North Region of Cameroon.

From August to September 2016, the Taskforce on Population Movement (TFPM) implemented a multi-cluster location assessment to gather more in-depth data on the IDP, returnee and host populations, in 3,292 locations hosting IDPs and/or returnees, covering all 22 governorates in Yemen.

Between January and February 2017, DTM found that 23,248 people have been newly displaced, bringing the total population displaced to 431,634 people.

In cooperation with IOM DTM, the DRECM-R (National Directorate on Civil Status and Refugees) recorded 105,491 refugees (22,103 households), 14,678 returnees (2,816 households) and 121,391 IDPs (25,293 households) as of 31 December 2016.  In total, the population amounts to 241,560 individuals (50
