Displacement.iom.int is an IOM online platform designed to enhance access to Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) information products on internal displacement, including a visualization of the scale of displacement monitored by IOM. A second complementary platform by DTM, flow.iom.int, intends to visualise population flows. Each platform is designed to facilitate a better understanding of displacement and mobility trends within and between countries or regions.  

Mobility tracking aims to quantify the presence of population categories within defined locations, with a frequency that captures mobility dynamics. Its approach is highly customizable: it can be light-touch or in-depth depending on the phase and requirements of the response, and it often increases in depth and detail over successive rounds. The online platform visualises mobility tracking data collected through baseline area assessments.

Baseline area assessments provide information on the presence of internally displaced populations in a defined administrative area, their reason and date of displacement and their shelter situation. Once a baseline or a list of locations hosting displaced populations has been identified, further location and/or site assessments are conducted to gather multi-layer and multi-themed data on the displaced groups. The objective of the location/site assessments is to collect in-depth data on the living conditions and needs of populations. This may include populations in camp and camp-like settings, or populations residing within host communities and/or areas of return of the observed population of concern.

This dashboard presents the variation in the number of IDPs between Rounds XVII

As of 12 September 2017, DTM identified 138,290 IDP families (827,740 individuals) currently still displaced. Of these, the majority originated in Mosul district (740,034 individuals).

This displacement dashboard determines the status, locations, and needs of people displaced by the ongoing conflict in Northeast Nigeria. As of 15 August 2017, the DTM has identified 1,757,288 IDPs (322,931 households) across Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe States.

This Site Assessment Dashboard identified 242 camps and camp-like settings (formal and informal camps) housing and 658,841 IDPs. 61% cited tarpaulin as the most needed shelter material while 13% complained of not having portable water.

This dispalcement report covers the period of 25 July to 15 August 2017 and includes the six most-affected states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.

This Emergency Tracking (ET) system tracks displacement along the Mosul Corridor as of 10 September 2017.

During the reporting period, DTM identified a total of 182,188 IDP families comprised of 1,093,128 individuals who are currently still displaced. Tha main districts of displacement include Mosul with 642,450 IDPs and Al-Hamdaniya with 124,128 IDPs.

In this Flow Monitoring Weekly Report, it was found that there was a significant decrease (by 63%) in exits from Malakal PoC in comparison to the last week. 65 individuals exited during this reporting period in comparison to 178 individuals last week.

DTM Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is deployed to track and provide up-to-date information on sudden displacement and other population movements in: Bama, Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Kala Balge, Konduga, Monguno and Ngala.

On 23 May 2017, a group of rebel fighters called the “Maute Group” attacked the city of Marawi in Lanao del Sur, population: 211,000+. The assault affected 98% of the population, displacing 359,680 people.

Clashes on the 14th of August between households in Jinan Attiyah muhalla resulted in the displacement of 25 to 30 families to Al nassr and Al jadidah muhallas. On the 20th of August 102 migrants arrived in Alkhums from Zliten baladiya with their intended destination being Italy.

In July and August 2017 DTM Libya interviewed 1,258 key informants across 100 Baladiyas and 657 Muhallas. A total of 204,458 IDPs were identified.
