Displacement.iom.int is an IOM online platform designed to enhance access to Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) information products on internal displacement, including a visualization of the scale of displacement monitored by IOM. A second complementary platform by DTM, flow.iom.int, intends to visualise population flows. Each platform is designed to facilitate a better understanding of displacement and mobility trends within and between countries or regions.  

Mobility tracking aims to quantify the presence of population categories within defined locations, with a frequency that captures mobility dynamics. Its approach is highly customizable: it can be light-touch or in-depth depending on the phase and requirements of the response, and it often increases in depth and detail over successive rounds. The online platform visualises mobility tracking data collected through baseline area assessments.

Baseline area assessments provide information on the presence of internally displaced populations in a defined administrative area, their reason and date of displacement and their shelter situation. Once a baseline or a list of locations hosting displaced populations has been identified, further location and/or site assessments are conducted to gather multi-layer and multi-themed data on the displaced groups. The objective of the location/site assessments is to collect in-depth data on the living conditions and needs of populations. This may include populations in camp and camp-like settings, or populations residing within host communities and/or areas of return of the observed population of concern.

Since February 2016, a total of 16,660 migrants were recorded by the flow monitoring point in Séguédine, Niger. This included a total of 11,163 outgoing and 5,437 incoming migrants.

Cumulatively from the first week of June 2015 to 21 April 2016, 51,114 households representing 89,538 individuals have crossed the border into Haitian territory. 34.3% were female while 65.7% were male. 1,308 presumed unaccompanied minors were identified.

As of 1 April 2016, the TFPM Report Dashboard identified 2,755,916 displaced individuals  (452,449 displaced households) in Yemen. 26% of the displaced individuals are men and 29% are women.

On 26 March 2016, multiple locations in Renk County, approximately 80 km east of Renk town, were allegedly bombarded by Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). According to the local RRC the villages of Atham, Babnis and Chumudi in Chumudi payam were bombed and residents were displaced westwards.

ETM teams identified 309 evacuee sites. 167 sites were found to be occupied by 7,062 evacuees. Evacuees were concentrated in six provinces (Ba, Ra, Lomaiviti, Bua, Cakaudrove and Lau) with the highest concentrations in Ra, Lomaiviti and Cakaudrove.

25,294 IDPs (5,139 households) have been identified by the DTM in March 2016 in 3 targeted provinces: 15,665 IDPs (3,133 households) in Makamba province; 171 IDPs (59 households) in Kirundo province; 9,458 IDPs (1,947 households) in Rutana province.

From January 2014 to 31 March 2016, the DTM identified 3,418,332 IDPs (569,722 families), dispersed across 105 districts and 3,785 locations in Iraq.

More than 5 years after the devastating 12 January 2010 earthquake, an estimated 17,119 households, or 62,590 individuals are still residing in 36 IDP sites in the earthquake affected communes.
