Displacement.iom.int is an IOM online platform designed to enhance access to Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) information products on internal displacement, including a visualization of the scale of displacement monitored by IOM. A second complementary platform by DTM, flow.iom.int, intends to visualise population flows. Each platform is designed to facilitate a better understanding of displacement and mobility trends within and between countries or regions.  

Mobility tracking aims to quantify the presence of population categories within defined locations, with a frequency that captures mobility dynamics. Its approach is highly customizable: it can be light-touch or in-depth depending on the phase and requirements of the response, and it often increases in depth and detail over successive rounds. The online platform visualises mobility tracking data collected through baseline area assessments.

Baseline area assessments provide information on the presence of internally displaced populations in a defined administrative area, their reason and date of displacement and their shelter situation. Once a baseline or a list of locations hosting displaced populations has been identified, further location and/or site assessments are conducted to gather multi-layer and multi-themed data on the displaced groups. The objective of the location/site assessments is to collect in-depth data on the living conditions and needs of populations. This may include populations in camp and camp-like settings, or populations residing within host communities and/or areas of return of the observed population of concern.

A total of 141 new arrivals and 297 exits were observed this week marking the lowest number of exits recorded in the last four weeks at Baidoa checkpoints.

A total of 252 new arrivals were recorded this week, this highest number in the last ten weeks and 217 exits were observed, the lowest number in the last seven weeks at Baidoa checkpoints.

A total of 9 new arrivals were reported at the two entry points in Dolow District, a slight decrease from the previous week. The new arrivals cited insecurity (57%) and food (43%) as their reason for displacement.

A total of 25 new arrivals were reported, a two fold increase of entries compared to the previous week. Once again, no exits were reported. The majority of the new arrivals cited lack of food as their reason for displacement (75%) while others cited rejoining their family (25%).

The DTM Burundi dashboard for the month of May 2018 covers all 18 provinces of Burundi. The DTM has identified 187,026 internally displaced persons (IDPs) amidst 41,060 households.

L'OIM a mené des évaluations ad'hoc du 18 Avril au 2 mai 2018 afin d'identifier les localités concernées, et d'identifier les localités concernées et les mouvements de retour.

Over the past three days, at least 1,643 households (approximately 8,215 individuals) have been displaced from Derna to the baladiyas of Shahat, Al Qubba, Al Bayda, Umm Arrazam and Benghazi.

This week there were 15 new arrivals through Dollow check points and Zero Exits was recorded. The number of arrivals reported this week was higher than the numbers recorded last week; the key driving factors for displacements in to Dolow this week were lack of food (100%).

A total of 39 entries and zero exits were recorded in Dolow IDPs camps.

177 new arrivals, a slightly high number compared to last week, and 22 exits were recorded this week. Approximately half of the new arrivals said that their reason for displacement into the IDP sites was due to lack of food (43%) and insecurity (33%).
