Somalia — Migration Route and COVID-19 (08 June 2020)

The Eastern Route is on of the main migration routes in the East and Horn of Afirca (EaHA) region. It denotes the movement between EaHA and the Arab Peninsula, in particular the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), but also other countries in the peninsula. This map shows the indicative routes followed by Ethiopian migrants transiting in Somalia to reach Yemen en route to KSA. These routes are overlaid with the districts affected by COVID-19 to illustrate the risks to which migrants are exposed.
