The escalation of violence between all parties in north-eastern Nigeria since 2014 has resulted in mass displacement and deprivation in the states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe. To better understand the scope of displacement and assess the needs of affected populations, IOM has been implementing its Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) programme starting July 2014, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMAs). The activities of the DTM project, which consist of conducting baseline assessments and registration for IDPs living in camps and host communities, are currently being carried out in Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.
The information collected will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive profile of the IDP population in Nigeria which will be shared with all relevant stakeholders and will contribute towards enabling the government of Nigeria and humanitarian partners identify the needs of Nigeria's displaced population and develop interventions for providing IDPs necessary assistance.

Within the period of 25 February - 03 March 2019, a total of 1,611 movements were recorded, including 1,514 arrivals and 97 departures.
Within the period of 18 - 24 February 2019, a total of 1,606 movements were recorded, including 1,505 arrivals and 101 departures.
In Nigeria, FMPs were established in March 2017 at several important transit points in Sokoto and Kano to track the passage of travellers to and from Niger. This dashboard is an overview of the data collected at these FMPs in January 2019.
Within the period of 11 - 17 February 2019, a total of 2,855 movements were recorded, including 1,746 arrivals and 1,109 departures.
Within the period of 04 - 10 February 2019, a total of 6,931 movements were recorded, including 4,752 arrivals and 2,179 departures.
Within the period of 28 January to 03 February 2019, a total of 5,901 movements were recorded, including 5,357 arrivals and 544 departures.
Within the period of 21-27 January 2019, a total of 6,882 movements were recorded, including 6,240 arrivals and 642 departures.
Results show that the daily average number of individuals observed in December at the FMPs in Nigeria increased by 0.1 per cent as compared to November.
Within the period of 14-20 January 2019, a total of 10,122 movements were recorded, including 9,534 arrivals and 588 departures.
Within the period of 7-13 January 2019, a total of 14,624 movements were recorded, including 14,085 arrivals and 539 departures.
Within the period of 31 December 2018 to 06 January 2019, a total of 26,426 movements were recorded, including 24,902 arrivals and 1,524 departures.
Within the period of 24-30 December 2018, a total of 7,922 movements were recorded, including 7,369 arrivals and 553 departures.

Results show that the daily average number of individuals observed in November at the FMPs in Nigeria increased by five per cent as compared to October.
Within the period of 10-16 December 2018, a total of 4,451 movements were recorded, including 3,836 arrivals and 603 departures.
Within the period of 3 - 9 December 2018, a total of 5,139 movements were recorded, including 4,523 arrivals and 616 departures.
Within the period of 26 November and 2 December 2018, a total of 3,075 movements were recorded, including 2,381 arrivals and 694 departures.
Recently concluded Biometric Registration in Girei Local Government Area (LGA), within the period of 13 November – 28 November 2018, has brought the total number of Returnees and Displaced persons in Girei (LGA) to 16,476 individuals (6,327 households).
Within the period of 19 - 25 November 2018, a total of 2,707 movements were recorded, including 2,285 arrivals and 422 departures.
Results show that the daily average number of individuals observed in October at the FMPs in Nigeria increased by 15 per cent as compared to September.
The recently concluded Biometric Registration in Fufore Local Government Area within the period of 24 September – 10 November 2018, has brought the total number of Displaced persons in Baga to 4,686 individuals (1,168 households).
Within the period of 12 -18 November 2018, a total of 3,665 movements were recorded, including 3,052 arrivals and 613 departures.
The recently concluded Biometric Registration in Yola North and South within the period of 24 September – 10 November 2018, has brought the total number of Displaced persons in Baga to 8, 859 individuals (2,790 households).
