The site assessments conducted during Nigeria's DTM Round XXII found that 82% of the assessed population are women and children (55% are female and 25% are children under 5 years of age). Almost half of the affected population (49%) have been previously displaced.

As of 18 April 2018, the DTM has identified 1,881,198 IDPs (357,016 households) across Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe States. This represents an increase of 6 per cent (98,708 individuals) from the previous DTM Round.
