A total of 2,415 movements were recorded, comprising 1,756 arrivals and 659 departures, between 21 and 27 December 2020. Arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Damboa, Gwoza, Mobbar and Monguno Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most-affected Nigerian State of Borno. Arrivals were also recorded in Girei, Gombi, Hong, Lamurde, Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Numan, Song, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of the state of Adamawa. Departures were recorded in Askira/Uba, Damboa, Gwoza and Kala/Balge LGAs of Borno; Girei, Gombi, Lamurde, Madagali, Maiha, Mubi North, Mubi South, Numan and Song LGAs of Adamawa. ETT assessments identified the following movement triggers: conflict/attack (45.7%), voluntary relocation (24.8%), poor living conditions (21.2%), improved security (6.7%) and fear of attack (1.6%).
The DTM has identified 127,832 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 27,615 households in the month of September 2020. Of those, 83 per cent were displaced due to natural disaster while 17 per cent were displaced due to other reasons. Between the months of August and September 2020, an overall decrease of 3 per cent (3,504 IDPs) in the number of internal displaced persons was recorded. This decrease were mainly due to the permanent return of IDPs in their communities of origin, as well as local integration. Humanitarian needs overview during this reporting period includes: 67 per cent of households reported the lack of school materials, 32 per cent of households have non-functional latrines, 41 per cent of households had access to only one meal per day, 37 per cent of households did not have access to a pharmacy, 56 per cent of households did not have access to arable land, and 41 per cent of households reported small hosting capacity as a shelter issue.
La DTM a identifié 127 832 Personnes Déplacées Internes (PDI) et 27 615 ménages PDI au cours du mois de septembre 2020. Parmi ces personnes, 83 pour cent ont été déplacées suite à une catastrophe naturelle, tandis que 17 pour cent ont été déplacées pour d’autres raisons. Entre les mois d’août et de septembre 2020, une baisse de 3 pour cent (3 504 PDI) du nombre de Personnes Déplacées Internes a été enregistrée. Cette baisse est principalement due au retour permanent de PDI vers leurs communautés d’origine, ainsi que par leur intégration locale. L’aperçu des besoins humanitaires au cours de cette période de rapportage indique que: 67 pour cent des ménages ont mentionné le manque de fournitures scolaires, 32 pour cent avaient des latrines non-opérationnelles, 41 pour cent avaient accès à seulement un repas par jour, 37 pour cent n’avaient pas accès à une pharmacie, 56 pour cent n’avaient pas accès à des terres cultivables et 41 pour cent des ménages ont mentionné la faible capacité d’accueil de leur abri.
Round 5 of the baseline assessments was conducted by the DTM team which comprised of 66 enumerators between 27 October and 11 November. A total of 210 wards were assessed in 2 provinces. During Round 5, 19,412 IDPs (61% female, 39% male) were recorded during the data collection. Out of 210 wards assessed across the two provinces, 142 wards were hosting IDPs. In addition, 17,268 individuals returned to their homes of origin. Furthermore, 5 wards in 3 districts recorded a total of 56 foreigners from Mozambique.

In November 2020, the monthly population count was conducted at Masna collective centre where 4,510 individuals/977 households were identified and Naivasha IDP Camp with 9,048 individuals/2,644 households. The population of Naivasha IDP Camp marginally decreased from 9,110 individuals in October 2020 (decreased by 62 individuals). Wau Masna saw an increase in its population by 498 individuals since October 2020. The population of Naivasha IDP Camp marginally decreased from 9,573 individuals in September 2020 (decreased by 463 individuals). Wau Masna saw a decrease in its population by 1,099 individuals since September 2020. La DTM a identifié 5 242 personnes (972 ménages) affectées inclus 1 890 personnes déplacées (571 ménages) par des vents violents et pluies torrentielles dans les provinces de Bujumbura Mairie, Cibitoke, Muyinga, Rumonge et Rutana.
Since mid-June 2020, people in South Sudan have been affected by flooding in areas along the White Nile. In late July, IDPs from Jonglei State started arriving to Juba. As numbers increased, a temporary site for flood displaced population was set up in Mangala, where the first group of IDPs arrived on 3 August 2020. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), 17,196 IDPs were resgistered in Mangala as of 2 November 2020 (CES - ICCG). In order to provide information to support humanitarian partners, on 26 September 2020, DTM launched a rapid flow monitoring tool on site to track the number of arrivals and to establish a basic profile of population fleeing the floods in Jonglei, including their areas of departure. Between 28 September and 31 October 2020, DTM counted 6,846 new arrivals and interviewed 814 groups representing 5,494 individuals (80% of new arrivals). DTM further interviewed 38 groups (293 individuals) who intended to permanently leave the area. Du 24 Novembre au 02 Décembre 2020 des populations se sont déplacées en provenance des villages de KINYUMBA, LWIBO, KALAMBIKILAMBO, LUKWETI, BUKOMBO, MYANJA, LUASHI, MUTAMBALA, KILAMBO situés dans la chefferie de OSSO BANYUNGU groupements de BAPFUNA, BIHIRI et BASHAL I dans le territoire de MASISI province du NORD KIVU. Ces populations auraient fui à la suite d’affrontements opposants les forces armées de la République Démocratique du Congo (FARDC) et les groupes rebelles de la coalition APCLS qui auraient croisé une patrouille des FARDC. Les déplacés ont majoritairement trouvé refuge dans le village de NYABYONDO, et dans le quartier BIRERE à MASISI CENTRE A BIRERE, il a été signalé qu’un grand nombre de déplacés occupe la nuit les salles de classe de l’EP IMARA et de l’église catholique Mather Dei.
The crisis in Nigeria’s North Central and North West zones, which involves long-standing tensions between ethnic and linguistic groups; attacks by criminal groups; and banditry/hirabah (such as kidnapping and grand larceny along major highways) led to fresh wave of population displacement. Latest attacks affected 640 individuals, including 28 injuries and 22 fatalities, in Rogo LGA of Kano State, Wurno LGA of Sokoto State, Chikun, Giwa LGAs of Kaduna State and Bakura LGA of Zamfara State between the 21 - 27 December, 2020. The attacks caused people to flee to neighboring localities. A rapid assessment was conducted by field staff to assess the impact on people and immediate needs.
