Flow monitoring points are placed at known migrant passing points along the Niger migratory route. Data is collected daily at FMPs to inform migrant movements and profiles. The data collected provides a snapshot of migrant movements through the region. The numbers are collected from primary sources and do not claim to reflect all migrants passing through the flow monitoring points. Since 01 February 2016, a total of 291,211 outgoing and 103,504 incoming migrants have been registered at FMP. This week 127,138 outgoing and 8,803 incoming migrant have been registered.

57,926 IDPs (12,254 households) have been identified by the DTM in September 2016 in the 7 targeted provinces. The number of persons displaced by natural disasters has increased by 15% between August and September 2016. Rumonge has the highest number of women and children as well as the least access to revenue generating activities (RGA). Ruyigi has the highest rate of malnutrition. Cibitoke has the greatest number of IDPs displaced due to natural disasters.

More than 5 years after the devastating 12 January 2010 earthquake, an estimated 14,593 households, or 55,107 individuals are still residing in 31 IDP sites in the earthquake affected communes. Of the 31 displacement sites still open, 45% are tents and makeshift shelter sites and 55% are T-shelter sites. 2 IDP sites closed between 1 July 2016 and 30 September 2016 due to rental subsidy programmes. When comparing the figures from the 27th round of the DTM to the IDP figures from 2010, a net decrease of 346,924 of the total households (or 1,481,340 individuals) identified in 2010, can be observed.

The total number of returnees since January 2016 to September 2016 was 23,766. DTM recorded 941 returneed in the month of September 2016.

In Round 6, DTM Mobility Tracking located and identified 313,236 IDP individuals (62,322 households) currently present in 94 areas across the country. This represents a decrease of 35,136 IDPs from the number reported in Round 5, and is largely due to the return of IDPs identified in Bani Waled, Tarhuna Al Qubah and Al Sharqiyah, back to their homes in the outskirts of Sirte following the de-escalation of fighting in those districts.

Cumulatively since the first week of June 2015 to 29 September 2016, 84,405 households representing 143,094 individuals have crossed the border into Haitian territory. 34.3% were female while 65.7% were male. 2,273 presumed unaccompanied minors were identified. 5,231 households declared having been registered in the PNRE corresponding to 10,325 individuals. 87,526 individuals declared having returned spontaneously. 24,865 individuals claim to have been deported. 30,241 individuals were officially deported at the three official border crossing points of Ouanaminthe, Malpasse and Belladere.
