A total of 711 evacuation shelters were inventoried. Of these, the DTM teams profiled 423 shelters and registered 79 shelters. As of 14 February 2017, 47 evacuation shelters remained open, hosting an estimated 7,015 persons (representing 1,564 households). Of the 47 shelters, 23 shelters were registered by DTM teams and host a total of 4,596 individuals (representing 1,071 households). Of the total number of individuals registered, 1,281 (27.9%) were identified as vulnerable.  

Depuis février 2016, l'OIM Niger effectue un suivi des flux migratoires sur deux points de la région d'Agadez au Niger. Les points de suivi des flux migratoires sont placés sur des lieux de transit sur les routes migratoires du Niger. Les données, collectées à partir de sources primaires, fournissent un aperçu des mouvements migratoires dans la région. Les flux observés sur les points sont en baisse depuis septembre 2016. Ceci coïncide avec le renforcement des contrôles des desmigrants à travers la région. De surcroît, les mouvements migratoires à travers l’Afrique de l’Ouest observent généralement une baisse pendant la période hivernale. En janvier 2017, 6 524 individus sortants et 8 424 individus rentrants ont été observés sur deux points de suivi des flux actifs. Les nationalités principales dans les flux entrants et sortants ce mois-ci ont été les migrants de nationalité nigérienne. Ils représentent 72% des flux entrants et 89% des flux sortants. La grande majorité des migrants identifiés (91%) sont des hommes.

DTM recorded 159,936 IDPs comprising 26,656 families across 7 governorates. The governorate of Ninewa hosted the most IDPs, 149,448 (93%). Mosul was the most commonly cited district of origin with 126,084 people recorded as originating from there. The majority of individuals (129,048) were residing in camps or emergency sites. 

IOM recorded a cumulative total of 173,208 individuals comprising 105,070 households crossing the border into Haitian territory, 33.8% of these were female and 66.2% were male. 2,824 presumed unaccompanied minors were identified. 105,303 individuals declared having returned spontaneously and 29,408 individuals claim to have been deported. 38,035 individuals were officially deported at the three official border crossing points of Ouanaminthe, Malpasse, and Belladère and have been voluntary registered.  

The cumulative total of individuals displaced within this period was 217,764 (36,294 families). The district hosting the largest number of IDPs within this period was Al-Hamdaniya with 69,714 recorded IDPs. Mosul was the district hosting the second largest number of IDPs, 69,408.  The number of IDPs living in emergency camps rose by 3% to 63% of the cumulative total. DTM also recorded 47,472 returnees, a 24% increase. The number of families displaced at the time rose by 5% (1,230).  

From 2 November 2016 through 7 February 2017, a total of 435 heads of household were interviewed at Zero Point and IOM’s Transit Center near the border. The results of those interviews are analyzed in the following report. 33% (143 HH) of the heads of household interviewed said they had been working as daily wage laborers in Pakistan, followed by miscellaneous other occupations (10%, 44 HH), drivers (9%, 37 HH) and fruit sellers (7%, 27 HH).

Mosul was the most commonly cited district of origin with 126,642 people recorded as originating from there. The majority of individuals (129,504) were residing in camps or emergency sites. 

As of 2 February, the DTM has identified 3,030,006 IDPs since January 2014, dispersed across 106 districts and 3,661 locations in Iraq. During this same period DTM has also identified 1,495,962 returnees. Between 5 January and 2 February 2017, the governorate reporting the highest increase in IDPs was Ninewa (13% or 52,746).  

From the start of January 2014 through 2 February 2017, the DTM identified 3,030,006 internally displaced individuals (505,001 families). This map shows the size of IDP population residing in 3 main shelter categories (private, critical, camp plus unknown). 1,853,892 IDPs were living in private settings; 495,840 were living in critical shelter arrangements; 603,084 were living in camps, and 77,190 were living in unknown shelter arrangements.  

From the start of January 2014 through 2 February 2017, the DTM identified 3,030,006 internally displaced individuals (505,001 families). This map shows locations where IDPs were residing, as well as overall concentrations across the country. Ninewa governorate hosted the largest IDP population (15% or 461,766 individuals) and reported a very high rate of intra-governorate displacement, with 95% of IDPs originally from the same governorate.
