DTM carried out assessments in PK5 (Bangui), which continues to host a significant number of people affected by the conflict. The assessments were conducted between 4 April and 10 May 2017 in 11 districts of PK5, namely Ouham Guida 2, Senegalese, Yaloa 1, Ramandji, Boulata, Gbaya Dombia 1, Ouham Guida 2, Gbaya Dombia 2, Yaloa 2, Cameroonians North, Cameroonians Douala, and Cameroonians Yaounde. As of 10 May, 2017, PK5 hosts 101,008 affected individuals.
DTM identified 545, 283 affected individuals and 80,409 individuals in safe sites. 361 safe sites were identified. 768 houses were fully damaged and 5,869 houses were partially damaged. Most damaged houses were identified in Matara.
A total of 302 households were interviewed, 29% were male-headed and 70% were female-headed households (1% unanswered). Of those surveyed 79% intended to stay in Aburoc and 69% of those intending to stay were planning to stay for 1-3 months. In total 71% have received humanitarian assistance.
DTM recorded 105,121 internally displaced families comprised of 630,726 IDPs. The majority of IDPs were residing in Camps (399,432 individuals). DTM recorded 155,622 persons displaced caused by the military operations in Shirqat and Baiji districts (Salah al-Din governorate) since mid-June 2016, 378,186 individuals displaced because of military operations since 17 October 2016 in the context of the Mosul Operations Emergency Tracking and finally 96,918 individuals displaced due to the clashed in Hawija district (Kirkuk governorate) since August 2016.
1,906 individuals were observed crossing the border into Haitian territory. Of these 1,638 were voluntarily registered. 29 unaccompanied and separated children were identified, 15 of these were officially deported into Haitian territory. 729 individuals declared having returned spontaneously and 140 individuals claimed to have been deported. 930 individuals were officially deported into Haitian territory.
IOM conducted a biometric registration exercise in Guit town from 12 to 15 May 2017.The exercise was successfully completed with a total of 2,053 individuals or 598 households registered.
DTM identified 63,031 families (378,186 individuals) during the reporting period. The most commonly cited district of origin was Mosul (344,352 individuals). The majority of IDPs were living in camps and emergency sites (315,942 individuals).
On 27 May 2017, IOM carried out an assessment to ascertain the level of damage sustained in camps and camp-like settings due to the storm on the previous day. 20 camps were affected out of the 44 camps assessed in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC), Jere, Kaga and Konduga Local Government Areas. In total: 3,429 individuals were affected, 552 shelters were damaged, 51 latrines were damaged and 17 shower points were damaged.
DTM identified 265,615 IDPs and 227,866 returnees in Libya in March 2017. This represents a decrease of IDPs and increase in returnees from the previous round, mainly due to the return of a large number of IDPs to Sirte during the time of data collection.
DTM identified 62,901 IDP families (377,406 individuals) and 20,644 returnee families (123,864 individuals) in and around Mosul. 59% of displaced people are living in emergency camps and 24% are living in emergency sites.
DTM identified 62,901 families (377,406 individuals) who are currently displaced. Most of the identified IDPs originated from Mosul district (344,298 individuals). Ninewa governorate hosts the highest number of IDPs (351,792 individuals). Most IDPs (316,164 individuals) are living in camps or emergency sites.
DTM recorded 209,202 IDPs comprising 44,578 households during the period covered. Of these 8,745 IDPs (1,404 households) are in displacement sites, 137,798 IDPs (29,977 households) are living with host families and 62,659 (13,198 households) are living in rented houses, empty houses or self-constructed huts. 138,626 IDPs were displaced as a result of natural disasters, while 69,734 were displaced because of the socio-political situation.
