DTM Burundi a identifié 202 726 PDI comprises dans 44 232 ménages dans 17 provinces. 9 032 PDI (4%) vivent dans des camps de déplacés, 129 667 PDI (64%) vivent avec des familles hôtes, 64 027 PDI (32%) vivent dans des maisons louées, maisons vides ou huttes construites soi-même. 137 396 PDI (68%) ont été déplacées à la suite de désastres naturels, tandis que 64 504 PDI (32%) ont été déplacées en raison de la situation socio-politique. 54% des PDI sont des femmes, 46% sont des hommes.
This DTM Dashboard covers 17 provinces of Burundi. The DTM has identified 202,726 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 44,232 households in the provinces of Gitega, Cankuzo, Bujumbura Rural, Rutana, Makamba, Ruyigi, Muyinga, Kirundo, Cibitoke, Rumonge, Bubanza, Bururi, Kayanza, Muramvya, Mwaro, Ngozi and Karusi. In terms of reasons for displacement, 68% cited natural disasters while 32% of migrants cited socio-political reasons. Besides that, reasons preventing return include 31% having their homes destroyed and/or damaged, 42% lacking security, 16% lacking food, and 11% lacking social infrastructure or income generating activties repsectively.
Depuis 2014, la République du Cameroun est affecté par l’insurrection de Boko Haram en Afrique de l’Ouest, dont les attaques et menaces récurrentes ont conduit à des déplacements importants de population. Les donnée recueillies entre le 23 juin et le 7 juillet 2017 comportent des informations sur le nombre de personnes déplacées, la période de déplacement, le motif, le type de logement et les données démographiques sur les populations déplacées, par le biais des évaluations conduites dans six départements et 37 arrondissements de la région de l'Extrême-Nord. Au cours de cette ronde, voici la population qui a été identifiée : 235 913 Personnes déplacées sur le plan interne; 30 278 Réfugiés non-enregistrés ; 59 398 Retournés; 91% de la population déplacée a été déplacée par le conflit armé qui a lieu dans la région, 8% par des inondations et autres aléas climatiques, et 1% par des troubles intercommunautaires; 48% des ménages vivent dans des communautés hôtes, 16% vivent en location, 21% dans des sites spontanés, 13% ont pu réintégrer leur maison, 1% vivent dans des centres collectifs, et 1% vivent en plein air.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducted a biometric verification exercise in the Malakal Protection of Civilians (PoC) site from 1 – 11 August 2017, covering four sectors and 48 blocks of the PoC site. A total of 24,402 individuals, or 9,184 households, were verified. The previous verification was conducted in February 2017, with 30,551 individuals, or 10,230 households, verified, indicating a significant decrease of approximately 6,000 individuals.
In order to better understand the geographic distribution of displacement sites, and population estimates, DTM rolled out the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT). The data collected through this tool will allow partners to have the number of people currently residing in each displacement site in order to plan and monitor serve delivery. During the reporting period, DTM estimated the presence of 27,800 IDPs and 32 IDP sites. Daawad, Godobjiran and Qarxls are the three most populated IDP sties.
Displacement is in Nugaal is centred in the main towns of Garowe and Burtinle. A majority of the IDPs originate from southern and central Somalia mostly displaced due to drought. These IDPs are often at risk of fire outbreaks and flooding, especially those living along the river bank of Garowe. During the reporting period, DTM estimated the presence of 50,100 IDPs and 33 IDP sites.
DTM recorded the presence of 325,589 displaced individuals (54,418 households) and more than 14 host localities. Seventy-two per cent of the displaced individuals are IDPs while 18 per cent are returnees and 9 per cent non-registered refugees.
The displaced population is estimated at 325,589 individuals (235,913 IDPs, 30,278 unregistered refugees and 59,398 returnees). 678 villages were evaluated including 14 new villages. Additionally, 48 uninhabited villages were identified. 91% of the target population is displaced due to armed conflict in the Region. 48% of the displaced households live with host families, 16% rent houses, 21% live in spontaneous sites, 13% returned to their original dwellings, 1% live in collective centers and 1% live in the open air without shelter.
The National Strategy on Myanmar Refugees and Undocumented Myanmar Nationals (UMN) formulated by the Government of Bangladesh highlights the fact that more than 300,000 Rohingyas have crossed the border and are living in Bangladesh. Following an outbreak of violence on 9 October 2016 in the Rakhine State of Myanmar, approximately more than 80,000 UMNs fled to Bangladesh. The influx slowed in late February 2017, however more new arrivals from Myanmar were reported in the month of July. The majority of UMNs are living in Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district, a district bordering Myanmar identified as the main entry area for border crossing.
The Youth Intentions Baseline Survey aims to understand the perceptions and attitudes of the youth residing in Bentiu PoC in regards to their intentions to stay or leave the PoC and the types of trainings or support required to leave the PoC. The survey targets youth between the ages of 18 to 35 years and was conducted from 10 – 11 June 2017. The Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) technique was used based on a random sampling methodology with sample sizes of 19 per strata or cluster. The key findings found that 88% of youth surveyed intend to stay in Bentiu PoC, 91% of youth report insecurity outside the PoC as the main reason to stay, and 96% of youth report they depend on humanitarian support as their main means of livelihood.
The flow monitoring figures provide an indication of the cumulative number of IDPs displaced from west Mosul. They do not reflect the current number of IDPs from west Mosul who are still displaced, as some might have returned. As of 17 August 2017, the cumulative number of IDPs having transited through Hammam al-Aliel screening site since 25 February 2017 is 725,494.
DTM identified 139,768 IDP families (838,608 individuals) who are currently displaced and 41,826 returnee families (250,956 individuals). 48% of the displaced population is living in unknown shelter arrangements and 33% are living in emergency sites or camps.
