The crisis currently affecting the Lake Chad Basin countries is a result of a conflict with Non-State Armed Groups and has triggered significant displacement of populations. As of 22 May 2018, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria are hosting an estimated 4,175,104 affected individuals made up of internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees (both in- and out-of-camp), returnees (former IDPs and returnees from abroad) and third country nationals (TCNs). 80% of the affected population (representing 3,322,297 individuals) are currently located in Nigeria, while 10% are located in Cameroon (405,787 individuals), 6% in Niger (252,305 individuals) and 5% in Chad (194,715 individuals).

Ce rapport est composé d'un ensemble d'infographies et de cartes des différentes tendances migratoires au Tchad. Il traite d'un grand nombre de mouvements de population recensés depuis, vers et au sein du territoire tchadien et dresse une vue générale des populations en mouvement. Plusieurs types de mobilités sont traités dans ce document: les mouvements économiques internes ou vers l'étranger; les transhumances; les déplacements forcés; et les retours.  

Within the period of 9 – 14 May 2018, a total of 5,916 movements were recorded, including 5,337 arrivals and 579 departures at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Biu, Chibok, Damboa, Demsa, Dikwa, Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Gubio, Guzamala, Gwoza, Ngala, Hawul, Hong, Kaga, Kala/Balge, Konduga, Kukawa, Madagali, Mafa, Magumeri, Maiduguri, Maiha, Michika, Mobbar, Monguno, Mubi-North, Mubi-South, Ngala, Nganzai, Numan, Yola-North and Yola-South Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Adamawa and Borno States. Assessments identified the following main triggers of movements: poor living conditions (28%), improved security (26%), voluntary relocation (24%), military operations (12%), fear of attacks (7%), ongoing conflict (2%) and farming activities (1%).

L'OIM Madagascar met en oeuvre son programme de Matrice de suivi des déplacements (DTM) afin de mieux comprendre les déplacements des populations engendrés par la sécheresse et fournir des informations essentielles aux acteurs gouvernementaux et humanitaires sur le sujet. La quatrième évaluation a couvert la période allant de janvier à avril 2018 et a eu lieu dans les communes de Andalatanosy, Antanimora, Imongy, Behazomanga, Nikoly (Tsihombe), Ambatotsivala, Mahegne (Beloha), Antsakoamaro, Tsirandrany (Bekily).  847 personnes déplacées ont été identifiées entre janvier et avril 2018. Ce nombre est quasiment équivalent à celui des déplacés entre 2009 et 2012 et représente deux tiers des dépalcements pour la période allant de 2013 à 2015 (1,091 personnes déplaces).

IOM is the co-lead of the Task Force on Population Movements (TFPM) and is responsible for tracking IDP and returnee movements across Yemen. IOM’s coastal search and rescue teams for migrants found 313 new arrivals (80 boys and 233 men) in Lahj. These migrants were provided with information, food, water, NFIs, and medical assistance, as necessary. One cholera case was confirmed using a rapid test, among 160 suspected cholera/AWD cases that were treated in Ibb through DTCs and ORPs as part of cholera response. Assessment of returnee Yemenis from Saudi Arabia – conducted on a daily basis in the Hadramout Governorate – finding over 6,600 Yemenis returned from KSA in April 2018, with 61% returning without travel documents. IOM participated in a national measles vaccination campaign in Shabwah and Abyan Governorates and provided treatment and referral services for confirmed cases through its mobile health teams in the area. 2,461 conflict-affected children benefitted from a range of activities in Child-Friendly Spaces (CFSs) in Sana’a and Aden, and 27 children were referred to focused PSS. Due to school holidays and temporary closure for security reasons, 24 out of the 34 IOM-supported CFSs are currently operational.

La DTM a identifié 169 374 personnes déplacées internes (PDI) au sein de 37 791 ménages déplacés. 3 561 PDI (2%) vivent dans des camps de déplacés, 90 355 PDI (53%) vivent dans des familles d'accueil, 33 315 PDI (20%) vivent dans des maisons vides et en paille, 42 143 (25%) vivent dans des maisons louées. 71% des PDI (119 693) ont été déplacées à la suite de désastres naturels, tandis que 29% des PDI (48 867) ont été déplacées en raison de la situation socio-politique.  

The DTM Burundi dashboard for the month of April 2018 covers all 18 provinces of Burundi. The DTM has identified 169,374 internally displaced persons (IDPs) amidst 37,791 households. 90,355 IDPs (53%) were living with host families, 3,561 IDPs (2%) were living in camps and displacement sites, 33,315 IDPs (20%) were living in emtpy and straw houses, and 42,143 IDPs (25%) were living in rented housing. 71% of IDPs (119,693) were displaced as a result of natural disasters and 29% of IDPs (48,867) were displaced as a result of sociopolitical issues.      

Ce document présente des informations sur les urgences au Burundi pour la semaine du 6 au 12 mai 2018. La DTM a identifié 1 140 personnes affectées et 98 personnes déplacées en raison de glissements de terrain.
