The ongoing conflict in Yemen, since March 2015, has led to the displacement of more than 3.6 million people (according to DTM's 2018 Area Assessment). DTM’s Rapid Displacement Tracking tool collects and reports on numbers of households forced to flee on a daily basis, allowing for regular reporting of new displacements in terms of numbers, geography and needs. In the first Eight months of 2019, conflict activities have resulted in new patterns of displacement, particularly in within Hajjah, Al Dhale'e, and Al Hudaydah governorates.

This document compiles the main events related to migration flows and forced displacement which occurred in West and Central Africa in August 2019, as well as key information products published by DTM for the month.

From the period 2 – 8 September 2019, a total of 2,521 movements were recorded, composed of 2,170 arrivals and 351 departures. Arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Biu, Dikwa, Gubio, Gwoza, Jere, Konduga, Maiduguri, Mobbar, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno state, and locations in Demsa, Fufore, Gombi, Hong, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Numan, Song, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa state. Departures were recorded in Askira/Uba, Gwoza and Kala/Balge LGAs of Borno state, locations in Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Hong, Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, Numan, and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa state. ETT assessments identified the following movement triggers: voluntary relocation (69%), poor living conditions (15%), conflict/attack (8%), improved security (5%), fear of attack (3%) and military operations (0.4%).

This report presents the findings of Round 26 of the mobility tracking component of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) programme in Libya, covering the reporting period 23 June until 04 August 2019. In June and July 2019, the number of IDPs identified in Libya increased from 268,629 to 301,407 IDPs by the end of Round 26. New displacements during the reporting period were primarily due to continued conflict in South Tripoli and related population movements  

The purpose of the Emergency Tracking Tool is to gather information on large and sudden movements of populations. The information is collected through interviews with key informants or direct observations. This report presents information on movements that took place on 9 September 2019 in two sites of Lac Province.

Tropical Cyclone Idai made landfall in Zimbabwe on 15 March 2019 and the country experienced floods and sustained heavy rains. From 17-19 July 2019, IOM, in partnership with Care International and on close coordination with the Government of Zimbabwe, conducted DTM return intention assessment in three displacement camps in Ward 15 of Chimanimani District, Manicaland province. This exercise collected data from 156 households (625 individuals) from 3 camps hosting a total of 171 households (718 individuals). The following report is an analysis of the data gathered from the assessment, covering household profiles, intentions and livelihood situations.

Ce suivi des urgences a été realisé au Burundi pendant la semaine du 1 au 7 septembre 2019. La DTM a identifié 551 personnes affectées pour pluies torrentielles et 154 personnes déplacées
