The ongoing conflict in Yemen, since March 2015, has led to the displacement of more than 3.6 million people (according to DTM's 2018 Area Assessment). DTM's Rapid Displacement Tracking tool collects and reports on numbers of households forced to flee on a daily basis, allowing for regular reporting of new displacements in terms of numbers, geography and needs. From 01 January-30 November 2019, IOM Yemen DTM estimates that 65,089 Households or 390,534 Individuals have experienced displacement, at least once. Between the 24th and 30th of November, the highest number of displacements were seen in: · Al Dhale’e (182 HH) – Qa’atabah (79 HH) and Ad Dhale’e (51 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate were internal. · Marib (142 HH) – Marib (96 HH) and Sirwah (29 HH) districts, Most displacements in the governorate were internal. · Taizz (101 HH) – As Silw (19 HH), Mawiyah (15 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate were internal. Most displacement resulted from increased conflict in the following Governorates and districts. · Al Dhale'e (200 HH) – Qa'atabah (187 HH) and Al Husha (6 HH) districts. · Al Hudaydah (112 HH) – Al Hali (39 HH) and At Tuhayat (21 HH) districts. · Marib (110 HH) – Marib (109 HH) district. · Taizz (100 HH) – Ash Shamayatayn (15 HH), Salh (13 HH) and Al Wazi'iyah (13 HH) districts.
During the period of 25 November – 1 December 2019, a total of 3,786 movements were recorded, which composed of 2,452 arrivals and 1,334 departures. Arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Hawul, Jere, Kaga, Mobbar, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno State. Arrivals were also recorded in Girei, Gombi, Hong, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Numan, Song, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State. Departures were recorded in Askira/Uba, Chibok, Gwoza, Hawul and Kala/Balge LGAs of Borno State. Departures were also recorded in Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Hong, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Numan and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State. ETT assessments identified the following movement triggers: poor living conditions (29%), improved security (21%), fear of attack (20%), voluntary relocation (16%) and conflict/attack (14%).
Since June 2018, DTM has been conducting location assessments across the state of South Kordofan. To date, it has covered 185 villages (locations) within three localities, namely Abu Jubaiha, Kadugli and Reif Ashargi – each exercise consisting of a visit to the location followed by the physical surveying of public infrastructure, interviews with key informants, and group discussions with affected members of the community.
