The International Organization for Migration's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has identified 697 IDPs (170 households) in Hai Kondako, Pibor County who fled communal clashes in Gumruk payam. More than a half of IDPs were male (54%) and under 18 years (51%).

This report gives an overview of the return situation in Logone Oriental and Moyen-Chari provinces in the south of Chad, where Chadian nationals arrived as a result of the crisis in the Central African Republic (CAR). The International Organization for Migration (IOM) deployed the DTM in these two provinces in February 2019, to obtain accurate and comprehensive information on the displacements caused by this crisis. This tool collects information on the numbers and profiles of returnees in these provinces, as well as their living conditions, needs and vulnerabilities. This report provides the results of assessments conducted between 9 October and 13 November 2019 in 88 localities in the two provinces. The assessments identified 77,650 returnees in 17,413 households. Most returnees (61%) live in sites, the most important ones being Maïngama, Danamadja, Sido Est and Kobiteye.
The ongoing conflict in Yemen, since March 2015, has led to the displacement of more than 3.6 million people (according to DTM's 2018 Area Assessment). DTM's Rapid Displacement Tracking tool collects and reports on numbers of households forced to flee on a daily basis, allowing for regular reporting of new displacements in terms of numbers, geography and needs. From 01 January 2020- 22 Feb 2020, IOM Yemen DTM estimates that 3,880 Households or 23,280 Individuals have experienced displacement, at least once. Between the 16th Feb 2020 and 22nd of Feb 2020, the highest number of displacements were seen in: · Al Jawf (315 HH) – Al Hazm (300 HH), Al Khalq (15 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate were internal. · Marib (101 HH) – Majzar (39 HH), Marib City (31 HH) and Marib (30 HH) districts. Most of displaced households were originated from Al Jawf , and Marib. · Al Dhale’e (64 HH) – Qa'atabah (43 HH) , and Ad Dhale'e (12 HH). district. Most displacements in the governorate were internal . · Taiz (52 HH) – Al Mudhaffar (10 HH), Salh (9 HH), and Al Qahirah (7 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate were originated from Taiz, Aden, and Al Hudaydah. Most displacement resulted from increased conflict in the following Governorates and districts. · Al Jawf (367 HH) – Al Ghayl (338 HH) and Al Maslub (12 HH) districts. · Marib (64 HH) – Majzar (56 HH) and Medghal (5 HH) districts. · Al Dhale'e (58 HH) – Qa'atabah (42 HH) and Al Husha (6 HH) districts.
From October to December 2019, DTM registered 60,798 individuals across four states in Sudan – 43,585 (72%) of which were returnees and 17,213 (28%) internally displaced persons (IDPs). Both Central Darfur and South Kordofan hosted comparatively large registrations of IDPs (8,710 and 8,503 individuals respectively). During the three-month period, North Darfur registered a substantial caseload of returnees in Umm Dukhun (33,123 individuals).
The DTM Emergency Event Tracking (EET) is deployed to track sudden displacement and population movements, and provide more frequent updates on the scale of displacement and quantify the affected population when needed. As a subcomponent of the new Mobility Tracking methodology in Sudan (Round Zero), and activated on a needs basis, EET utilises a broad network of key informants to capture best estimates of the affected population presence per location – a useful tool for humanitarian response planning and design.

The crisis currently affecting the Lake Chad Basin states results from a complex combination of factors, including conflict with Non-State Armed Groups, extreme poverty, underdevelopment and a changing climate, which together have triggered significant displacement of populations. As of 24 February 2020, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria were hosting an estimated 4,668,408 affected individuals made up of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Refugees (both in- and out-of-camp), Returnees (Former IDPs and Returnees from abroad) and Third Country Nationals (TCNs). 78 per cent of the affected population (representing 3,650,768 individuals) were located in Nigeria, while 11 per cent resided in Cameroon (524,116 individuals), 6 per cent in Niger (261,631 individuals) and 5 per cent in Chad (234,742 individuals).
Following the heavy rainfall which occurred between 10 and 15 February 2020, a rapid assessment was conducted by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the National Disasters Management Institute (INGC). The assessment focuses on understanding the extent of damages to shelters and facilities across all existing resettlement sites in Sofala and Zambesia provinces. A similar assessment was also conducted in all sites across Manica province. As a result of this heavy rainfall and severe flooding, 71,070 individuals were affected, of these, 15,755 were evacuated to 30 accommodation centres set up in Buzi, Cheringoma, Gorongosa, Maringue and Nhamatanda districts in Sofala province. For Sofala and Zambesia specifically, out of the 42 sites assessed in Sofala and Zambesia, 29 were affected by the rains. In total, 227 upgraded shelters, 369 emergency shelters and 97 tents were completely destroyed due to the heavy rain. IOM identified additional 168 shelters (upgraded, emergency shelters and tents) with major damages to walls and roofing, 1,848 shelters partially damaged, 1,462 latrines and 13 water points damaged. Six schools were damaged in total across the two provinces assessed; one in Buzi (inhajou 2019 site) and two in Dondo (Mandruzi and Savane sites) in Sofala province, as well as two in Maganja Da Costa (Mussaia and Parreirao sites) and one in Namacurra (Ronda site) in Zambesia province.
The International Organization for Migration's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has confirmed displacement of 2,965 individuals (593 households) in Lalama, Maridi County who fled armed conflict in Rasolo, bordering Maridi and Yei County. Half of IDPs were female, and 52.1 per cent were under 18 years.
The International Organization for Migration's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) conducted Emergency Event Tracking in Yirol East and Yirol West confirming displacement of 8,619 individuals (2,309 households) across the South-eastern part of Lakes State in early January 2020. In addition, combination of communal clashes and revenge killings in the area resulted in forced return of 1,293 indviduals to Angei, Majok, Pilingjier and Malek Town.
