DTM identified 26,710 IDP families comprised of 160,260 individuals. The majority of the identified individuals (127,452) originated from Mosul. 135,720 people were living in camps/emergency settings and 22,794 people were living in private settings.
Currently 26,488 families remain displaced (158,928 individuals). 3,882 families (32,292 individual IDPs) have returned. Between the updates of 12 and 19 January, Mosul district recorded an increase of 28% in the number of IDPs.

A total of 306 heads of households were interviewed: 34% were daily wage laborers in Pakistan, 11% were drivers and 6% were shopkeepers. The majority of the heads of household interviewed (59%) reported at least some debt, mostly between 10,000 - 20,000 PKR.

Located in the northern part of the conflict-affected state of Borno, Kukawa Local Government Area borders Lake Chad. Out of its 10 wards, only four are accessible, namely: Baga, Doro, Kauwa and Kukawa. The DTM identified 11,700 IDPs [2,283 households (HHs)] in Kukawa LGA.
